The Asia-Pacific Bureau (APB) is the Organisation for Threat Assessment and Peacebuilding's inaugural and regionally-focused wing. The APB delivers geopolitical intelligence and region-specific risk analysis. Grounded in strategic foresight and peacebuilding, we provide insights to public and private sector organisations navigating an increasingly complex regional landscape.

Established in 2026, the Bureau covers Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Asia, Central Asia, and the wider Pacific. Our team includes local and external analysts with connections across all major continents. The Bureau is currently headquartered in New Zealand to preserve independence and elevate perspectives that don't dominate the region's usual analytical output.

Our work examines emerging security, political, and economic developments across the region, including supply chain resilience, sanctions, sectoral geopolitical risk, regional governance, strategic competition, maritime security, and hybrid threats. Through evidence-based research and expert analysis, we help decision-makers understand evolving geopolitical and geoeconomic risks, identify emerging trends, and develop informed, resilient strategies.
